EYE DEFINE APPLICATION AND REMOVAL FAQS

HOW LONG DOES ONE APPLICATION LAST?

This may vary from person to person. A person whose eyelids tend to remain dry can wear them longer than a person whose eyelids are moist. Some Eye Define users leave them on overnight and some remove them before bed. We recommend that they be removed before bed or if they cause discomfort at any time. Many Eye Define customers have reported to us that they have no difficulty with the application at all. Others report that they had difficulty on the first application, but after becoming familiar with the lifts and in particular the placement of the lifts on the eyelid, it becomes as easy as any other make-up application. “Practice makes perfect” certainly applies here! The lifts can be put on and removed a number of times so you can experiment to find the perfect position on your upper lids. If you can feel the lift once applied, it may be positioned too far back.

CAN MAKE-UP BE APPLIED WITH EYE DEFINE?

Yes, absolutely! Apply your make-up as you usually do. Then put the gel on the lifts (a very small amount, just enough to cover the sticky side of the lift) and place the Eye Define eyelid lift strips on your eyelids over your makeup in the best position for you.

CAN EYE SHADOWBE USED WITH EYE DEFINE?

Yes, eye shadow can be used with Eye Define, however we suggest that you become comfortable with the application first before using eye shadow. We also recommend that you start by putting the eye shadow under the brow bone and not on the eyelid. When you are proficient with the application and are ready to apply the product over eye shadow on the lid, apply your make-up as you usually do. Then put the gel on the lifts (a very small amount, just enough to cover the sticky side of the lift with a thin film) and place the Eye Define lifts on your eyelids over the eye shadow in the best position for you. Matte Eye Shadows have been reported to work the best!

CAN EYE SHADOW BE APPLIED ON TOP OF THE LIFTS?

Powder eye shadow won’t stick to the lift well. If you use powder eye shadow, put the shadow on first and apply the lift over it (see previous question). The color will show through. If the shadow wears off around it, touch it up. You can also apply the lifts without shadow on your eyelids but instead put the eye shadow back behind them in the hollow under the brow bone to accent your eye. Or you can do both. Some types of cream eye shadow will adhere to the lifts and you can rub cream shadow color into the lifts while they’re still on the backing to color them. You can then place them over the same shadow already applied to the lids. Testing and user experiences have shown that putting the lifts over the makeup works best. People amaze us with the unique methods they use their makeup, so we encourage you to experiment! Bear in mind it usually takes some experimenting to learn where to place the lifts on your eyelid correctly in the beginning. We recommend that you first start without makeup, get comfortable with Eye Define and then see what works best for you. It is advised to start without eye shadow so they are not being repositioned to many times with eye shadow.

THE EYE DEFINE LIFTS SEEM TO FIT MY EYES VERY WELL, BUT LIFT IS STILL SLIGHTLY VISIBLE. DOES THAT MEAN I’VE PLACED IT INCORRECTLY?

If the lift is visible, it’s possible you are not putting it back far enough on your lid. You’ll know if you’ve put it back too far because your lid will flip up or you will be able to feel the lift when in place. If you put it as far back as it can go and you can still see the lift, you can use makeup to camouflage it. It’s also possible you don’t have enough eyelid surface for Eye Define to work effectively.

AFTER I HAVE APPLIED THE EYE DEFINE LIFTS, I NOTICE THERE’S A SLIGHT BUCKLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LIFTS. HOW DO I PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING?

It’s possible the lifts are buckling because they’re too long for the width of your eye. Try snipping the ends off after you remove each lift from the backing. This will not reduce the effectiveness of the lift and should prevent buckling if the length is interfering with the adhesion. Another possibility is that you’re putting too much gel on the lifts. You only need a tiny amount, just enough to cover the sticky side of the lifts with a thin layer, just a film. Try not to get any gel on the non-sticky side. Then, once in place, give the lifts a minute or so to set so they adhere well. I often press the lifts lightly with my fingertips a few times over a minute or so until they are firmly adhered to my lids. It’s a very dry process and there should be no excess gel or moisture anywhere.

CAN I PUT MOISTURISER OR EYE CREAM ON MY EYELIDS BEFORE I APPLY EYE DEFINE?

We do not recommend using a moisturiser or eye cream on your eyelid where the lift will be positioned (or only a very small amount if you must) Moisturisers can contain irritants that might cause redness or irritate your lids when using our product. Place the moisturiser/eye cream only on the skin above your eyelids, between your lid and eye brow.

HOW ARE THE LIFTS REMOVED? ARE THE LIFTS DIFFICULT TO TAKE OFF AFTER A DAY’S WEAR?

Adding the gel to the adhesive before you apply the lifts makes it easy to remove them. The lift will loosen and then you can peel it off easily after a day’s wear. The lifts are a bit harder to remove after only a few hours of wear but the process is the same. You just peel them off a bit more slowly since the adhesive will stick more tightly than at the end of the day.

DOES THE EYE DEFINE GEL COME OFF EASILY, AND HOW IS IT REMOVED?

The gel is soft like a cream, remains soft, is colorless and can be removed with any makeup remover. You can’t see the residue left after removing the lifts.
